Nusaybah went to the battle of Uhud-- a really terrible and bloody battle for the Muslims from Medina. She thought that she should be there (there were only two women from the Muslim group at the battle) to help the wounded and give water to the thirsty so, she brought a skin of water and marched after the Muslim army.
The sword, bow and quill of arrows that she strapped to herself as she went? Just because.
She stayed in the command position with the Prophet, Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam, and the other companions who were watching the battle.
The tide turned in the battle though-- the archers ignored the order to stay put and suddenly, the cavalry of Meccans were able to advance on the Prophet and his companions. Contingent after contingent of Meccans attacked the smaller and smaller group of people protecting the Prophet-- a man would sacrifice himself for the Messenger of God and then another, and another and then? Guess what happened?
Guess who drew her sword as the last person between the Prophet and the army of unbelievers?
